I have grown wallflowers and foxgloves from seed sown in april/may. I know you are supposed to plant them out in autumn but what harm would it do to plant them out now as they are quite large in their pots
Many thanks.

If you have space for them, shove them in the ground, Eddie. Self-seeded plants will just grow where the seed falls without problems. I think the advice to grow in pots and plant out in autumn assumes that you are using bedding plants, so have summer bedding out now in the ground where the wallflowers etc will grow over winter.
