I want a Lavendar with the darkest purple flowers possible and as compact growth as possible as the space I want it for isn't very big.......I've been looking at photos of all the different Lavendars and now I'm just confused. Any suggestions? ( I don't want one of the French/butterfly ones)

Thanks Inverglen,
Dwarf Hidcote sounds as if it fits the bill.

I agree about Hidcote, but I have a dwarf one and it is really very small even after 2 years, but also very pretty.

Yes it is confusing. One of the deepest purples is the traditional reliable English lavender called Hidcote and on the market is a Dwarf Hidcote.
Not sure where you can get it and when they say dwarf not sure how dwarf they are so will leave you to do another search but that sounds a possibility.
