I have planted sun flowers they have grown to 5ft plus , but they have stupid little flowers , no more than 4 inches across including the petals. They have been fed regularly , can you tell me why?

4 inches is actually fairly big for most flowers, but if the plant seems to be mostly green, maybe it got too much nitrogen. Also, check for flower buds, in case the bloom is just starting.

There are different varieties. The really giant flowers are often much taller that 5' so perhaps you have planted one of the smaller ones. I wouldn't have called 4" flowers stupid little ones though - just enjoy them and read the seed packets carefully next year!

Oops!! I must have had a short circuit, because my brain didn't translate the "sun flowers" into the obvious "sunflowers"! Sorry! If the plants are branching and there are multiple flowers, that is normal to many of the ornamental kinds, the wild species, and some of the oilseed kinds. Do you remember what the packet said?
