Hi Donnaj...
Thanks for that suggestion ...
I took this pic a few days ago ...
it now has more buds appearing on the stem...
I'll try to add another pic ...

I also think its a hardy geranium but hard to tell which one from the picture

Thanks Inverglen...
I've added another photo... very difficult to get pics as the flower is growing under a lot of other shrubs...
The top pic is the new one ...
You can see the leaf shapes better, and also more buds on the left of the white flowers...

I think its a Geranium too - I'm off to see if I can work out which one...
Isn't it just G. sanguinam 'Album'?

Hi Bamboo...
I've added a third pic.. (the lowest photo)
shows the flower petals a bit better...
Unfortunately, the label by the plant belongs to tulips...
Lol...

G. sanguinam 'Album' is my best guess

Could it be the white Musk Mallow TT?
20 Jul, 2011
Hi Dido...
Since I put the final photo on, I've been wondering that...
... I think Hollyeves sent me some Mallow seed last year....
Maybe I should ask her to look at the photos..Lol.

We'll get there in the end TT but it sounds good to me!! lol

I've just sent Holly a message..Lol.

I'd say Malva moschata alba. Lovely plant!
20 Jul, 2011
Thanks Beattie ..
I've googled that and the flowers/leaves look similar..
I hope Holly adds a comment too.. :o)

It does look like it - but how come its so tiny?
20 Jul, 2011
Don't know why so tiny ...
... but garden had severe drought during early summer ..
I did my best to water everything, but Verbena bonariensis has also only just appeared nearby to this, now that the rains have come this past week.
20 Jul, 2011
I only wondered cos my pink one's been out in flower for 4 weeks - its shorter than usual though, only about a foot to 18 inches.
20 Jul, 2011
You had drought too, didn't you Bamboo...
could mean that the result of so many dry weeks is somewhat stunted growth ?
20 Jul, 2011
I imagine that's the cause, yes - I watered every 6 days with a sprinkler, but there's no substitute for good rainfall after a few weeks without, is there.
20 Jul, 2011
My front garden is looking happier than it has done for almost 3 months ... just because it has received proper rain, rather than me with my watering cans ...
... I agree... no substitute for good rainfall ...

HI TT... yes they look like the Mallow seeds i sent you....the leaves are the same. and flowers.... : O ))

I'm not usually successful with seeds, so well done you, Holly, on supplying excellent quality.. :o)
21 Jul, 2011
LOL..... they should come back next year as well... : O )
21 Jul, 2011
That's good news...
come back from the plants ...
or from self-seeding ?
.. or from both ?
21 Jul, 2011
Both... mine come back and they self seed.. : O )
21 Jul, 2011
