Hello to everyone that has replied to my mystery plant. I have taken a couple of photos, One is of my potentilla and the other is this plant that seems to be confusing me.

The 1st is a shrub Potentilla and I have already suggested 2 perennial potentillas for you to consider for photo 2. The 3rd photo looks different again? Similar leaf but dont think its a Verbina but perhaps a Rununculous flore pleno? Sorry I am confused as I thought you meant 2 and 3 are the same plant?

The leaves of #2 look more like a ranunculus to me...

The second one looks rather like a Canary Bird rose to me.

« I have an umbrella bamboo ("fargesia murielae" - I think) in my garden...
There is confusion here as there are two types of plant called Potentilla. There is the shrubby type - as in your first photo.
And there is a herbaceous perennial type - as in your third photo.
I'm not sure about the second photo.
