I bought Agapanthus inapertus 'Sky' and Agapanthus 'Jack's Blue' today...impetuous purchases...and quite costly!
Before I plant them out tomorrow, I wondered what people's opinions were regarding the benefits...or otherwise..of planting in pots versus soil?
I've read lots about how dramatic they look in pots and how they are obviously easier to protect from frosts etc, especially if we have a winter like last. On the other hand, I can appreciate they look quite dramatic at the back of a border and maybe some people think that is preferable.
What do YOU think? Are there any hints etc experienced growers would like to share? LOL
Thanking you in advance, folks!

Well, as a very keen amateur but 'hit and miss' type of gardener, I have to tell you I lost all the ones I planted in the ground but the ones I put in large pots are beautiful! I was told by a neighbour that they don't like being crowded in by other plants which might explain why they didn't do very well in my border!
