I have encountered a problem with my hardy fuchsias. The first victim was last year in my front garden. Then two in my son's garden, 5 miles away. Now my pride & joy in the back garden has succumbed to it. The leaf growth has become abundant, with lots of little leaves as well as the main ones. The stems are a little thicker. No flowers in sight. The staff at my local Dobbies Gdn Centre couldn't help me at all.

I would try some sulphate of potash - that usually encourages flowering.

That's a thought, Bamboo. That hadn't occurred to me. There has been at least one other post citing this problem, so you may well be right.
