This isn't really a gardening question ... but I'll ask anyway : ) Has anyone got a telescope? if so do you know where we can go where there is no light pollution?
We live in Kent just outside of Maidstone.
Thanks. x

Good suggestion Pam - light pollution is a huge problem, parts of Cornwall might be nearer!

I was wondering about places like the rural parts of the Kent/East Sussex coast, or the South downs? How far does light pollution reach?

Here are a couple of links that may be useful. The first is the Mid Kent Astronomical Society..............

Talk to them and I'm sure that someone will be able to help with secondhand kit too.
This next one is an online astronomical directory which is full of links...............

Try the Ashdown Forest - not too far from you and the views at night are beautiful - and no light pollution.

Great idea Cammomile, we use to take the children to Ashdown forest. Its a lovely area its only 43 miles from Maidstone so would take no more than an hour

Ashdown Forest sounds good. Now all we need is a cloudless night with no rain. : )
