we have recently bought some rolls of lawn to put in our garden and after stablising quite nicely in a couple of week we have now found that it grow just to quickly getting ti a high of about 25 or 30 cm in just a few weeks.is this normal?our communal garden does not seem to be cut very often and keeks surprinsinly short and tidy.What have we done wrong?

Yes I know what you mean. I laid some turf about 2 months ago to extend my front lawn and it is so much more vigorous than my established lawn and seems to need cutting every few days. Eventually it will settle down and become more like the rest.

Yes, it is normal for this time of year - grass needs cutting weekly up until usually end of September, starting in April or March, though in spring, it often can wait 2 or 3 weeks between cuts, depending on the weather. Probably your communal garden lawns are cut regularly, as ours are here.
