Eucalyptus Degulpta, ours is approx 40 ft high, right next to a septic tank and around 28 feet from our bungalow (built on a float), we know the house tilts down towards the tree having sunk by around 2 inches or more. It appears healty but we are concerend about its proximity to the house, should we trim it somehow, or cut it down? Additionally we are about to replace the septic tank which is cracked (tree damage?) and thsi is an ideal time to carry out any work.

My advice would be to completely remove the tree, it is undoubtedly the cause of the damage to your septic tank and the roots will possibly be causing damage to your foundations.
