Do you guys think that compost from the recyling plant is a good idea,I've had about 2 tons so far this 'summer'
it's cheaper than bags by far ,but wotsinit?

Also it depends what you are going to use it for, potting compost or dig into the garden.

I would think it will be fine. Modern industrial scale composters get to a very high temperature so should kill off anything untoward.

I buy some from my local dump, 80L is about £1 cheaper and I put it on my clay with grit. I have not noticed any problems from using it (certainly no weeds) but I have not used it for containers. I didnt actually but any this year, but next time they have some I will.

They use all our garden waste collected from garden wheelie bins, chopped up and rotted down, and as somebody said, temperatures are really high in those composters, so anything bad would be killed. I've heard some good comments about it. I wish they did it round our way, Hobbit! Annie (Cumbria)

We don't get either... In fact a lot of the 'soil improvers' sold in GCs are from municipal composting.

More profit selling to them than to selling to us I suppose MG?

Probably not as the GC wont pay a lot for either just easier I guess than selling at the centre
