I have never put them out in the rain, but stand them outside in dappled shade when it is warm and still..I do water them with rainwater though..do you think the rain may spoil the flowers ?

I wouldn't put them out in the rain unless the temperature is more than 23ยบ C. Any less, and most species will show mushy black spots on the leaves.

My Dendrobium kingianium, Cymbidium and Pleoine orchids have all been out for the summer.
I would be wary of allowing water to run down the crown of my Phals or my Paphs as it can lead to rot.

I water mine with rain water and let it drain through a couple of times but don't let it sit in it. It has a second lot of blooms on it since it was given to me in March.
