i have a bad case of blossom end rot! i should see a doctor i know, but is it just the variety ive grown?, they are italian roma style and its very frustrating as the plants are full of fruit.
should i just avoid this variety?

I too have blossom end rot on my Roma tomato plant,( I only have 1 indoor for experiment !), but only on 3 tomatoes so far. These have had a great deal of water whilst growing.
And I've had the problem slightly on most of my plants over the years, except Gardeners Delight, None at all on those.
I may stick to these in future.

Shouldn't think so, it's because you've failed on the watering front - tomatoes are more prone to this when produced from grow bags, but sufficient and regular watering is critical once the fruits form, particularly in grow bags.
