I purchased some Alcea Chater Mixed Doubles seeds from Tatton Park Flower Show.There is no info on the packet which tells you when to sow them..could someone tell me please.Obviously these people are top pro's and expect a newbie like me to know:) lol thanks.

Post a photo in July next year and make me jealous. The plant is great, I just can't grow it. It is an easy cottage garden plant, so they say. ;)

Althaea I think you mean or Hollyhock, I have a devil of a job with them. Six foot of rust usually and doubles are not good for bees, pretty though.
Sow outdoors in a shallow drill about 10 inches apart in June. If under glass as an annual sow in february.....but I have never had a decent plant.
