Please can someone tell me when to pick quinces? mine are turning yellow now. Also I want to take cuttings from various flower/plants as they are finishing now and pot them on for next year, is now a good time to do this? I plan to pot them on in multipurpose compost in the shed. look foward to your advice. cheers, masie.

Quince last a long time on the bush, October and November is when I harvest them. I just place them in a bowl and they fragrance the room for weeks.

Your cuttings depend upon the plant.

Not necessarily a good time of year for cuttings from all perennials
You might get more reliable results from splitting the clumps. Its not too late to take hydrangea cuttings, and fuchsias if you use hormone rooting powder, but as Pimpernel says if you say what you want to propagate we may be able to advise you better.
