I have a number of lovely Fucshia Autumnale in pots which seem to be classed as annual bedding. How can I keep them for next year and do I need to cut back etc. Many thanks Sharyn Wood

« anyone know if and when cuttings can be taken from heleniums?
You need to move them somewhere frost free but cool/cold for the winter, but which has daylight. Usual procedure is to place the pots somewhere suitable, first reducing the topgrowth by 2 thirds, water really, really sparingly occasionally, if its a cool room (which it should be) water about once every month with a tiny bit, or just when the remaining leaves start wilting. Then repot in Spring (inside still) increase light and wait for new growth, then cut back. Move outside when all risk of frost is past, having hardened them off first.
