Hi,i was given a lovely plant named British Dipladenia and i would like to know can i keep it in a container and leave outside? It is a climber and does it require repotting into a larger pot than the one it came in 2.0Ltr.regards Mary

I think you're going to need to re-pot it, Mary, as it has quite a spreading root system. I have mine in the shadiest part of the conservatory, and we have the windows open a lot so plenty of fresh air. It wouldn't like the cold outside in winter--I think they come from sub-tropical forests! Annie

If it is Dipladenia, it's not hardy outside here, and is usually grown as a houseplant or in a conservatory. Needs minimum overnight temps of 60 deg F, bright light but not direct sun. It is a climber, but can be kept more bushy by nipping out the tops occasionally.
