No because the seeds contain cyanide and so they are poisonous. I believe that every part of the plant is poisonous apart from the flesh of the berries and some brave souls de-seed the berries to make jelly or jam which I believe even then is pretty tasteless.
But the safest answer is simply to say....they are poisonous.

That sounds about right. You are not supposed to plant this hedgerow if the neighbouring field has livestock as consuption has been know to kill sheep and even cows.

So I would stick to the blueberries!
