I have three small Hawkshead fuschias bought this year. Flowers not yet open. I bought these as they should be white but at present the outer petals are red!! do these change as the flowers open? Think I may have been sold the wrong plant! The plants came mail order from Thompson and Morgan.

Typical! Make a big fuss - they do this kind of thing a lot. Grrrr....

as bamboo says there shouldnt be any red at all. I think T& M need another reminder about their labelling. I have had a few iffy plants from them.

I've been totally put off ordering from them - there've been so many people on here who've been sent either the wrong plants, or very small plants, or just poor specimens.

Thank you all for your comments. I will order from other sources in future.
I emailed T and M yesterday with photos and they responded straight away. I have an evoucher for the cost of the plants plus an extra five pounds. Unfortunately this has to be spent on their site.
Not the best outcome but I will be wise in future. Thanks again for the comments....all very helpful.

I dunno, it has its advantages - you've got 3 free fuchsias, even if they're not the ones you wanted, and if you spend the evoucher with them, and they send wrong plants again, you'll get another voucher and more free plants, lol!

Previous question
« 1. Silly question ... Why isn't Fuchsia pronounced Fooksia? 2. Real question...
No, they don't change - your plant should have green tinged outer petals and be white, with no sign of red anywhere. I'd have a go at Thompson and Morgan...
