going to get rid of my annuals from pots today..can I put them on the compost heap or not...can you put roots of anthing in a composter?

Blimey, you're early - mine are still going strong out on the balcony, won't be binning them before beginning of October I wouldn't thave thought.

Some of mine have gone over, Bamboo. I'm also collecting seeds like mad at the moment. Salpiglossis is one.

You are right Bamboo I didnt actually mean right now! although my baskets will be down this week ready for replanting.

Yes my annual/bedding goes in the compost and their chopped up roots, the spent compost from baskets and pots goes on the garden. I do not put seeds/weeds in my compost. Roots of shrubs and anything woody is a no as it will not rot down for you.
