Is it a good idea, or not, to put the straw and poo from our pet rabbit on the garden?

Ooooh, I never thought of this, what a great idea!!! I might start doing this, hubby worries that the binmen won't take the recycling bin if they see the rabbit poos etc. Only thing is, I use paper pellets, can they go in the compost too? Thanks!

now craftnutter what do you use the paper pellets for? pooing????
any proper paper will compost down. if the paper pellets are waxed or coated with a plastic layer they wont rot down well enough so not in your compost bin.

Ha Seaburngirl! I use a proper tray for my dd rabbits loo!!! (don't ask me why, I'm mad for sure!!!!) The rabbit uses it too!!! That way, it doesn't poo in it's house, but uses the tray downstairs, very well trained!!! heehee!!!

We had a rabbit that was litter trained like that Craftnutter. I thought it was a great thing. We used wood pellets for the litter but newspaper ones would work just as well or wood shavings.

hi sadie we put it on the compost heap to rot down with everything else we compost. in the summer it helps to keep the balance right when there is lots of grass clippings. raw manure may 'burn' young foilage. and if its anything like our bunnies the wee dont half smell when fresh. hope this helps.
