MY PATIO ROSE SEEMS TO BE BUY FLOWERING,LEAVES ARE DEAD,WHEN SHOULD I PRUNE IT BACK AND WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SEAL THE ENDS?

Answers

Not sure what you mean by 'buy flowering' but I'm gathering its stopped flowering and the leaves are all dead. Are you sure the plant is still alive? Normally, these only need a light clipping over with a sharp pair of scissors, and the leaves shouldn't be dead at this time of year. And by the way, you don't have to seal the ends, if you mean where you make cuts.

Dead heading and light pruning( cut back to new red leaves) have kept my roses in bloom.

My patio roses Red Dream and Rainbow Magic are still in flower and good leaf. Red Dream is particularly good, as it still has abour 20 odd flowers and lots of buds. I have dead headed and given regular foliar feeds to all the potted plants. They are all thriving well and very colourful still.
