Moveing privot hedge

Hi i have a privot hedge that i have cut back to about 3ft tall. I want to move it (i know it will be a back breaking job) I'm looking for advice as i don,t want to kill it.For instance how long are the roots likely to be and how much damage can i do to them before i do ireperable damage. thanks

never moved privet before but have moved various shrubs around and as long as you get a decent root ball everything should be fine.you could always take some cuttings first just in case a disaster strikes. you may need to prune quite hard as well , but i am sure others on this site will have the neccessary imformation you require................steve
