hi when you put cuttings in a propogator how do no that they have rooted thanks

not all do but even very small rootlets hold the stem firm. i usualy use a heated propagator to encourage root development.

I'd generally say with great difficulty and alot of hoping, but patience was not my virtue I kept going back for a nosey every day with mine, fortunately they didn't mind me peeking!

leave them alone for 2 weeks. i then very gently pull on a leaf, if there is resistance to pulling then roots are forming. if the stem moves straight away i stop pulling and firm cutting back in.
I aso look out for evidence of roots coming out the bottom of the pot prior to potting on. i ususlly put 5/6 cutings in a 3" pot at a time.
