can i put ammariila outside

United Kingdom

red flowered plant

On plant ammarillas

Answers

no, especially in non tropical climates, they are terribly un-frost hardy and will suffer, the time to put them outside is after flowering wait around 4-6 weeks and pop it either in a porch or a bit of a colder area without watering it, dont put it in the shed in winter as it will freeze, garage adjoining to a house would be fine though. Once the leaves are dead chop them and pop it in a little colder area with no water for a coule of weeks and it should grow again, but this is the only taste of the outdoors this plant should get!
