could you tell me if we should cut off all the lower leaves.

We have 2 they are about 1.5 metres high they are in two seperate flower bed about eight square feet.we think they are the evening glow variety.

I dive in underneath and pull off the dead leaves - if they come away in my (gloved) hands easily. Then I give mine a feed. I snip off the ends of some leaves that look tatty (on a slant).
