If you can get electricity to the greenhouse, it's best by far to buy an electric thermostatically controlled fan heater. You can then set the thermostat to frost control or whatever temp. you want in the greenhouse. I also use mine to cool the greenhouse on hot days in the summer!
Paraffin heaters produce vapour and condensation, and have a nasty habit of running out of paraffin at the most inconvenient moment. They're hard to control too.

That is what I thought.......I want one that only comes on when the temperature drops. Will try Amazon. Thanks!

Got mine from ordinary shop last year and it cost the same so have a look first in case you have to pay postage as well, Linda....

No electric heater is okay in damp conditions

You need a heater specifically made for greenhouses, not a domestic one.

Hi Spritz even then will the heater cope with damp?

Yes, mine does, anyway.

Hum we've got a greenhouse one which we use in our totally enclosed front porch but would not want to use if it were damp.

I was thinking about buying the Bio Green Montana 2KW.
It can run on 1KW frost free only. I was hoping for a mild winter!!!!! :o) What kind do you have Spritz?

well id get one that can be turned down as aposed to one thats not hot enough so bigger within reasen is better i think if space isnt a problem .

If it is for a greenhouse and simply to keep it frost free 2kw is more than enough.

id have to agree it doesnt take much does it moon ?

I have a small green house. I go out each day to open the door to get rid of the condensation. I intend to bring in my tender baby plants, so frost free is enough.

Linda, sorry - I'll have to look tomorrow. I bought it at what used to be Wyevales. I think it's 2 kw.
