Yes tigerjoe you can. I usually start mine off in pots and then pool them in when the 'loop' straightens up. where abouts are you in the uk as if you are up north it may be a week or so later than down south. yorkshire is pretty much ok now.

Yes, we planted our show leeks in March. If well fed through the spring and summer they will produce larger plants. Put pieces of drainpipe over the top of each one to gradually bring up by earthing up each side, this will produce longer stemmed ones.
