Hiya, bought 8 of these fuchsias as plug plants back in May and they've all got this brown thing on the flowers! Do you know what it is please?

Hi I think this might be that they are a little too wet. dead head so that the new flowers have room and don't water until they are dry.

More likely that they are dying back.

This is like mine,Franny, and as Moongrower says,it is just dying back .it just need nipping off..Is it a 'Holly's Beauty' Fuchsia..? It is probably a tender one,so won't last much longer if it's outside..

Thanks everyone....

Bloomer these were supposed to be white and they were advertised as "Happy Wedding Day"! This is the 3rd and last time I use this mail order company as I've never received what I ordered!...

Franny did the flowers start off white? This looks to me like the dying back colours. In other words did the flowers start out white?

They were only white as 'buds' Moongrower.

The bud on the right is definitely a 'dying off'darker pink,Franny..Could you pot it up,and bring it indoors,in a light position? It will flower much longer, and probably overwinter ok..mine usually do ok,and start growing again in spring..

I'm gonna try this with two of them Bloomer (because of lack of space) and see what happens! Thank you for your time :)

You're welcome,Franny,and good luck :o)

I can guess which company you got them from! I've given up on that particular lot too - they're so unreliable and a lot of us on GoY have found the same.

Spritz It's so annoying when you don't get what you pay for! You don't know what they've sent until the plants start to flower cos they're only babies when you receive them!...

Bb thanks I cleared some space yesterday in the shed so I'm going to try to overwinter some in there as well...:)

So do I Bb... time will tell!... ;0)

The trouble is that sending them back now is a bit late! You could try ringing them and complaining, though. I know of other people who've been sent vouchers. Worth a try?

its great that you enjoy your lovely flowers in containers something i am thinking of doing soon as i have a yard at the back of my house i could put some pots etc. so if you have any tips i would be grateful if you could tell me which flowers do well ?

Spritz I'm not going to bother to contact them I've decided I'm not going to spend any more money with them! :)

Lovey I plant anything I like the look of in pots and containers, and hope for the best! It is time consuming with the watering and feeding but I enjoy gardening this way :)

I don't blame you - I gave in and ordered some Coreopsis last year, but they came so late and were so tiny, that they were useless. That was the last straw for me. So that's at least two customers they've lost. :-((
