I've just looked it up on a list I have and although this particular Daphne is not there, several others are - so it's most likely to be true, I expect.

All parts of this plant are poisonous. Sap can cause skin problems in some people.

According to the Royal Horticultural Society, all parts of this plant are highly toxic if eaten and the sap can irritate the skin.
