I have planted bulbs that are now sprouting- how can I stop these being damaged by frost this winter?

You will not need to, John. Many of the spring bulbs will put up early shoots but they are hardy to the frost and snow that we get. In fact, the snow is beneficial to them as it give a nice insulating layer. I used to worry about these shoots but have learned that they all manage to survive.
