can we take a cutting from a cordaline succesfully

I should imagine you could divide it but this isnt the time of year to do Id try in the spring.

It depends on what type of Cordyline. Some of the thinner stemmed houseplant Cordylines grow quite easily from cuttings, while Cordyline australis and its hybrids work much better with air layering. Commercially, the named varieties of C. australis are usually reproduced by cell culture--difficult for the average home gardener!
