In several locations in the UK we planted saffron crocus bulbs at the right time, soil and depth. All locations got green shoots but only one got any flowers. What can we do to improve the situation next season?

One of our members on here (Amy) has successfully grown them and been reaping the benefits recently.

They need a dry dormancy - the only way to achieve tis in the UK is in an unheated greenhouse. Even then you are not going to get spectacular results unless you have a whole greenhouse full of the corms.

sadly not a lot. make sure they dont get to dry through the summer. The flowers will be ade as the leaves die back, so dont clear the leaves off too soon.
