I could use some help identifying this if anyone has any ideas.
I picked it out of one of the plants that I got from Hill House, and must admit that I wonder if I've been nurturing a weed all summer!
Quite slow growing despite having been in the conservatory. The leaves are papery and hairy.
Thanks in advance............

It wasn't sold at all Bamboo - it was a hanger on in a plant that I bought. As it was from Hill House I figured it may well be worth keeping.
I did wonder if it was a wild Mallow, but the leaves are too thin and papery...........

I've just realised what its reminding me of - but it isn't one of these - the plant that looks like this in the centre with that hairiness is Tolmeia - but that's not what this is. I have no idea what this might be, sorry.

Coiuld it be a Astilboides tabularis or Damera?

I'm sorry to say its neither of those, Drc.

Could it be one of the original heuchera family?

I may have an id - Tellima grandiflora.
A member of the Saxifragaeae family - as are Heuchera Avkq47!

I'd got as far as remembering Tiarella cordifolia, and then to Tellima ... I've grown both, but not for years...

I would say one of the saxifrage family such as Tellima or Heuchera, Meanie, but I could not go further than that.

Tellima can be a notorious self-seeder in the right conditions

Thanks for your replies and advice!
Here's hoping that it's Tellima as that looks interesting.

Leaves seem too rounded for Tellima? Compare pics of tellima and heuchera leaves.

I have tellima growing in the garden and this looks like a good bet.

Should have said the leaf edges become slightly more pointed and marbled/veined with age.

I've checked out their Heuchera selection and they all seem to have distinctive coloured leaves.
Clearly, I am assuming that it must be self seeded from the stock plants.........

If it is Tellima grandiflora, spreads like the very devil outside... seeds like billyo.

id say definitely Telima grandiflora, I grow it and it is lovely. it produces greeny flowers that can be quite scented. they remind me of the smaell of floral gums, a small sweet from my childhood. I have lots of pictures of it on here.
seeds freely and there is some slight variation in stem colour.

The original heuchera has small green ones, but as the others say, I'd go for Tellima. Its useful in shade where nothing much will grow, and I have some on a small but very steep little bank by some steps at the end of the lawn which is too steep to mow.

Mmmm, Lots of distant memories tied up in the scent of floral gums, SBG.

I agree with Tellima grandiflora - a useful selfseeder in shade and you can always weed out the unwanted ones. It's not devastatingly prolific, just enthusiastic!

Yep agree its Tellima prefer the much prettier name of fringecups though, I have this growing in our wood love it, it does seed around but what the heck wouldn't be without it, love the way the tiny flowers change colour from cream to pink as it ages, beautiful.

Could it be Begonia Sutherlandii?
I also have an Impatiens Morsei. Some leaves are dropping & several leaves are curled! Could you give me any growing tips? Thanks.

They tend to drop the older leaves anyway. The curled leaves could be a sign of too much light - is it in full sun?

This is annoyingly familiar, but no name is coming to mind. Was it sold as a houseplant or for outdoors?
