Pruning Fuchsia

My fuchsia, Mrs Popple, is about 6' high. There are no signs of buds appearing and I wonder if I should just trim it or cut it right back. I think I nervously chopped a few ends of last year.

I cut my fuchsias right down to ground level just as new green shoots appear at ground level but this is usually in early to mid April

My 'Mrs Popple' gets chopped to ground level every year. She isn't showing any shoots yet, but she is always late.

Hi Ginellie,
Scrape the stems, if still green, cut above, if not cut further down. Many of my Fuschias are cut right down to ground level.
