Rhubarb likes a cool location with full sun. However, if you live somewhere which gets very hot in the summer, the rhubarb would benefit from some afternoon shade.
They like rich, well drained soil and adding a layer of mulch around the plants helps conserve moisture.
Rhubarb will usually grow like a weed with very little care. Add some compost or well aged manure to the soil when you plant as well as a little bone meal.
