Can a Pineapple Broom live happily in a big pot?

I have a pineapple broom that is not very big and I was wondering if it would live well in a big pot and possibly not get soo big? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had a tall one about 8 feet for 4 years and it is a large pot. I do not prune it just take off the dead flowers after flowering and it has flowered every year. I am just thinking about changing it to an even larger container but not sure if it will give it a shock. What do you think?

I suppose if you had a very large pot and kept pruning it after it flowered it could be possible.
