There are small mounds of soil all over my lawn.what is the cause and remedy?

At this time of year, probably worm casts. No cure as you need the worms for soil aeration etc. Remedy is to wait until they are dry then brush them over the surface.

Sounds like worm casts. They do no harm. I just stand on them to flatten them down

Depends how big the mounds are ... could be moles? Plenty about in the midlands in this mild weather.

I was wondering about that, too. How big are these piles of earth, Reetgirl? If they are bigger than your hand, then it could be moles.

If its worms that's good news if its moles it isn't.
