I am growing sprouting brocolli for the first time. At the moment there is a 'sprouting' at the top of the plant. Do I pick this now to encourage sprouting further down the stalk or do I keep waiting?

Thank you - will pick and eat! Plus will get the feed out. It is great to have some direct help like this from people who actually grown vegetables themselves.

I would pick it as it gets some size, and before the flowers start to open. Don't expect large curds, like calabrese, though. Remember to feed it regularly to keep new sprouts coming.
