Could anybody tell me if I can grow Sarcococca confusa in pots? I am looking for an evergreen plant that doesn't grow too wide (or i can keep trimmed) that will grow in semi shade. Any suggestions gratefully recieved!

Got one in a container, seems to have done well, maybe needs a little more nutrient

To grow in a pot. I would like to keep it no more than about 2/3ft wide and at least 3ft tall.

I have mine in a pot by the back door so i can smell its gorgeous scent as i walk by, it has been in there for years now and is quite happy.

Some of the Pieris would do as well - or Skimmia, but again, check spread and height before buying. Both the shrubs mentioned need ericaceous compost.

well thats good enough for me!! Might need 2 now,one for the bottom of the garden where i origionally wanted it and another close to the door for the perfume. Loved the suggestion of the skimmia so will give that a try.

To grow in pots, or in the ground? How narrow, exactly, and what about height? As for the first part of your question, I can't see why you shouldn't grow Sarcococca in pots.
