Hi Steve,
As Seaburngirl has said they are hardy and can go outside, but a greenhouse is fine till spring. If the tubers are the size of root cuttings then I would put them in large seedling trays with the top part sticking out for new growth to grow. That will give them a good chance this spring (I was doing a similar thing last week).

I aggree with the comments above, but would point out that kniphofia,s are rhizomatous rooted, not tuberous.

most of these are fully hardy outside so I would pot them up now in 'just damp' compost and place in the greenhouse. dont over water as they may freeze in the pots. my greenhouse is minus 5 at the moment and I know most of the plants will be fine as they are on the dry side.
