My son bought me a beautiful orchid phalaeopsis for my birthday but i'm not sure how to look after it. any help please

Good light is also necessary. The leaves should be medium green. If they are very dark green, they are not getting enough light to produce new flower buds. I would keep them within 2 feet (not to the side) of a north facing window with no shade outside, or in an east window with a chintz curtain.

I usually suggest taking a look at a blog by Spritzhenry,as well,Tulsa..'Awkward Orchids' in november 2009..It is very helpful,alongside the advice given above..as well as some lovely Orchid pics..:o)

Hello Tulsalady phals are so easy to grow.
Its time to water when roots go white or pot is light.
I feed my orchids with orchid feed in bloom once a week .
I have 2 feeds Vitax bllom feed and Vitax in growth feed.
Most of all enjoy .
