Are these 'forced' hyacinths for early indoor flowering? If so I agree with Bulba. In addition the dark area needs to be cool.

We have watered them and kept them cool

You did buy treated hyacinths, prepared for indoor growing, and not just ordinary, untreated ones?

That was my Q Bamboo... if they are not 'treated' bulbs then they will not do what Nightjar is expecting. B & I gave up on growing treated bulbs as we did not want to put into the garden. I'm now thinking to grow and bin in the brown compost bin. C

I have a bunch in a vase - someone bought me some as cut flowers. They've drooped, are a week old, but I can still smell them, haven't the heart to chuck them till they're scentless or dropping bits everywhere.

TX everyone -we had these given to us as a gift so we dont know whether they are treated or not.

Probably regular hyacinths then, I'd just put them somewhere cool and light as they have started to grow.

« thank you for your help i will have a look for those plants when i am next at a garden...
Next question
All I can think of, Dave, is that you have not given them any water all this time? The compost should be moist but not wet.
