Haven't grown them myself but I've seen them and all the literature says they are a duel purpose bean can be eaten as a green bean or allowed to dry and used in casseroles and the like.

How beautiful are those! Where did you find the seed? I know nothing about them, but will be very interested to know how you get on with them.
Nosey, I LOVE your idea of killer whale eggs!

Killer whale beans ... wonderful!!! Googled this and came up with the following very helpful website about growth etc - http://gardeningwithwilson.com/2008/03/01/yin-yang-beans-fruiting/ - which is very informative. May try these myself, as they can be grown almost anywhere as a bush plant, and when we get sick of green beans, we can let them ripen for future stews and salads. Thank you for posting this question!

lol gattina and avkq47 i think there one of the best looking seeds ive ever seen . they just realy reminded me of the orcas orca colour scheme . this is one of only 2 latin names i remember . the other one being excuse my spelling seraslam natari . ill let you work out what that is . heres a tip there realy scary predetors well i should say made out to be realy terrible vicious predetors . the most agressive mammalian predetor size for size is the commen shrew as it has to eat about one and a half times its body weight every day because of its extremly high metabolism . im full of useless information lol x . there are 2 predetors that get and have got a terrible undeserved name among others are the killer whale and the timber wolf . niether has any record at all of unprevoked attacks on humans .

We get pygmy shrews here, Nosey - tiny, tiny things - it's a wonder how they can get all their vital organs into such a minuscule frame! The cats catch them and bring them to us as presents. Always, dead, though. Such a shame.

I have a Yin Yang tattoo but I suppose that is of no help ;)

its along the same lines i see your point lilcrawford x x .
what about insects or bee humming birds . a rhinosauras beetle has the strength to move 600 times its own body weight . if you look inside there exoskeleton thow its just like green mush like most insects . to get that in perspective its like a minny towing a battleship . wow amazing .

if you actualy camp near a shrews dwelling for more than an hour you have effectivly killed it threw malnutrition because of the need for lots of protien so you wouldnt probably save them if they were braught in alive as they are realy territorial to xx .

Why does camping near a shrew's house deprive it of protein NP?
9 Feb, 2012
Maybe because it feels it can't leave its house to go food shopping while you are lurking nearby?

Your kind of right gattina . they won't feed while your sat there as they see you as a predator and its hard enough for them to get all the food they need on a normal day sterragran x .

Ah, poor little souls. I don't think we have any shrews though, just mice and bank voles so i won't worry about it too much.
Steve I tried to buy some beans from ebay and couldn't remember my user name. They didn't reply when I asked for it. So if you succeed and have half a dozen to spare I would be very grateful (what a cheek...)
