what do you give young tomatoe plants to give them strong roots and make them thicker stemsd

Another tip - when you pot them on plant them a little deeper that they were before, as they are stem rooters.

That is, any part of the stem that touches the ground will grow roots, so if you plant them deeper than they were in the original pot, they will soon have a root system twice as big. As for the feeding, if they are in a lean seed starting compost, I would give them a light feeding with a liquid food every two weeks until they are planted out.

Compost, light, warmth, water, and time, you don,t start feeding until the first truss has set, then you use something like tomorite once a week throughout the growing season.
