whats the best thing to feed young onion plants

I prefer a food with high nitrogen, moderately low phosphate, and moderately high potash. Something like a 3-1-2 ratio--say 24-7-16, or suchlike.

Nothing if you use a decent john innes based compost to grow them in, make sure they don't dry out, and pot on into bigger containers as and when necessary until planting out.

True, Scrumpy! I'm too used to dealing with poor soil, high temps, and the massive watering the temps require!
