I love crispooks picture of iris and alum. When to plant? And what are the names please. Would they flower this year? I would be grateful of any help. How many to plant to make a decent show? When do they flower and for how long?

I've had a look at the photo.
The iris look like Iris siberica. you would be able to buy decent sized flowering plants as for the price it depends on where you live. A decent plant £5 upwards.
The allium is Allium aflatuensis. You can buy the bulbs now for about 50p -£1. Planted 1ft apart.
As to how many depends on the size of plot you have. 3 pots of iris with 9 Allium will give a good show, dont forget the display will be over by june.
All the plants can be left in the ground and they will regrow next year.
