I moved 2 the other day which were in containers into the ground. But they didn't notice, because I never disturbed their roots -kept so much soil round them I couldn't even see the roots. If you want to dig up mature ones, that's more risky, but if they've only been in less than a year, you should be able to move them carefully without their noticing it.
