I have recently bought a Hydrangea Incrediball; I bought it by mail order as a two year old plant and at the moment it looks like a couple of twigs! Its about 6 inches tall at the moment. Can anyone tell me how long these take to reach their full size or if I am likely to see any flowers on it this year? I am doubting it will do but I am always optimistic!

A two-year old bush that vigorous that is just 6 inches tall? Grumpph! Mail order suppliers lying through their teeth again!...Unless they have a really funny definition of two years old, such as, "a two node cutting started 13 months ago in a chilly, shaded greenhouse."

Oh I'm not giving up on it, I just wondered how vigorous these are, I'm a newbie at gardening but keen! I don't think I'll be purchasing by mail order again but I was struck at the huge white flowers it is supposed to produce. There is the tiniest of shoots on it so it should do something.

Hi, I have two of these which I planed last year, they were purchased online and were healthy and in bud when they arrived. I did get a couple of gorgeous flowers on them which lasted for ages. Mine are like yours at the minute, with no sign of life at all, so I am hoping that something will start happening soon.....

Don't give up on mail order altogether, some suppliers are very good. If in doubt sound out other Goyers before you choose.

I don't know this exact one, but it is fairly early for hydrangeas to be doing much. (Depending on where you are.) Keep it watered and in afternoon shade and it should show signs of life soon, so don't give up on it.
