Is it too early to plant out African Marigolds?

I have raised three trays of African Marigold (space hopper) from seed and are now fully established in their trays and are at 5/6'' in height. Is it too early to plant them out into their large containers? I live in a very sheltered mild position in Dorset.

If you have a lot of seedlings why not plant a number just to see how they go on? You could note the results for subsequent years.

thank you for the reply, do you think 8 cm pots are ok per plant? Not sure where I am going to find the room though!

Hello Jannie
actually that was what my initial thoughts were, I have quite a few so I might do that with a couple. Trouble is, the plants are starting to bolt and bend over, that's why I was hoping I could get them all out now. Guess it's best to wait !

Much too soon to be planting our annuals... they definitely need potting on 8cm is probably bigger than you need.

It's too early to plant out, pot them on for bigger and better results.
